Injury is the leading cause of death and disability for Australian children, greater than any illness or disease. Yet injury is rarely at the forefront of child health programs. Part of the reason injury has not been addressed is that it is a hidden, silent killer.
The global success in reducing deaths from infections and non-communicable diseases has in some cases made the injury problem more pronounced. The KIDS Foundation, backed by its solidly researched, evidence-based and perfected programs, is committed to bringing the KIDS Foundation and Australia’s childhood injury problem to the public’s attention.
