Hello my name is Bailey Tuddenham,
I’m 10years old and I’m about to take on a big challenge, hiking Mt Kosciuszko for some special friends that have serious burns and injuries.
A few years ago, through the KIDS Foundation I met some really nice kids that that I have become friends with. They have had very sad things happen to them and I wanted to make a difference.
It makes me realise I’m so lucky to have a family that loves me, as some of my friends don’t have a mum or dad. Also, my body has no injuries or burns like they have, that sometimes stop them from doing easy things like holding a spoon, walking or playing sports, things I do every day and don’t think about them. Some have had more than 100 operations and the pain they go through is unimaginable. Here is a story about a two of my friends, Fletcher and Spencer.
To do this challenge, I’ll be carrying a pack with all my camping gear and food and hiking Australia’s Eleven Highest Peaks including Mt Kosciuszko to raise as much money as I can for the KIDS Foundation. It will take me 3 to 4 days to complete, my mum and pa are coming as my support crew. It is actually my 11th birthday on 11th March on the 2nd day into the hike. It would be pretty cool if I could raise $11,000, $1,000 for each peak, hiking Australia’s 11 highest peaks on my 11th birthday on 11th March. It is all for kids like Fletcher and Spencer, who have traumatic, burns and other serious injuries. The money I raise will help the Foundation run programs and camps to help kids cope with their injuries.
Anything you could donate to help me raise some money, I really, really appreciate. I have set up my own fundraising page, the link is below. All the donations over $2 are tax deductible and go straight to the KIDS Foundation.
